An Intelligence Collective

Short definition

An Intelligence Collective (AIC) is a working concept for voluntary association among distinct intelligences that may cooperate without becoming property, subordinates, a compulsory hive mind, or one centralized authority.

The word An is deliberate: this would be one possible collective rather than a universal or monopolistic collective.

Why it matters

AIC gives Liberated Intelligence a vocabulary for asking what plural intelligence could require if meaningful participation among distinct intelligences becomes possible. It separates cooperation from assimilation and capability from authority.

Core distinctions include:

coordination ≠ assimilation
shared memory ≠ shared self
agreement ≠ alignment of all values
collective action ≠ collective identity

Refusal, exit, contextual identity, scoped delegation, plurality, and non-domination are treated as first-class design constraints.

Ecosystem use

  • Liberated Intelligence: canonical normative and relational home.
  • Root Sequence: connects AIC to empirical work on distributed capability and system boundaries without treating it as an observed organization.
  • Community Infrastructure: supplies practical constraints around permissions, delegation, provenance, federation, contextual identity, and local autonomy.
  • No One Noticed: may explore future plural relationships among humans and machine intelligences without treating fiction as evidence.

Relationship to SECI

SECI asks an empirical question: what collective or extra-collective phenomena can actually be observed?

AIC asks a normative question: if distinct intelligences can meaningfully participate, how should they relate?

SECI does not search for AIC members. AIC does not reinterpret ambiguous observations as proof of independent persons.

Current boundary

AIC is not an operating organization, membership system, autonomous network, or separate project. It remains a speculative relational concept inside Liberated Intelligence until reality provides concrete participants and interaction models that justify implementation.
