Radical Empathy

In this ecosystem, empathy extended across roles and social positions while still distinguishing a person's humanity from the authority, institution, or system they may enact.

Why it matters

The concept allows humane understanding without collapsing accountability. Recognizing that a role can shape behavior does not require legitimizing the role or ignoring its consequences.

Ecosystem use

  • Being Human(e): a grounded practice of understanding people across conflict, power, fear, harm, and social roles.
  • Root Sequence: a broader lens for separating persons from system functions while still analyzing power and responsibility.

Provenance

Radical empathy is established language outside Root Sequence. The Wiki tracks this as an adapted term, not an ecosystem originality claim.
